Itinerary::

 DAY 1:HANOI – NGHIA LO(-/L/D)


TuesdayDepart from Hanoi to Nghia Lo, situated in Yen Bai province. The road will lead through Phu Tho province, famous as a tea growing area. Pass through Tay minority villages. Upon arrival, visit a White Thai ethnic village.

DAY 2:NGHIA LO – MU CANG CHAI(B/L/D)

WednesdayToday, your journey leads you to Mu Cang Chai. This region is known for it countless terraced rice fields. Enjoy breath-taking vistas of terraced rice fields, considered the most spectacular in Vietnam. The area looks most stunning in May when the locals prepare and water the fields for the new crop and during harvest time between September and October. See Blue H’mong and White Thai people in their colourful traditional dresses. 
Upon arrival in Mu Cang Chai, stretch your legs during a walking tour to visit Thai houses-on-stilts. You have the opportunity to enjoy a performance of traditional music and dance of Thai people.

DAY 3:MU CANG CHAI – THAN UYEN – SAPA(B/L/D)

ThursdayDepart for Than Uyen, home of the White Thai minority and known as “the rice bowl” of the area. Proceed to Sapa, passing through an area inhabited by Blue Hmong, Thai, Dzao and Lu people. 
Arrival to Sapa – a resort town founded by the French in 1922. Located 360 km from Hanoi, Sapa used to be the summer retreat for the French and is now a popular tourist destination for foreigners and locals alike. The area around Sapa has stunning vistas onto terraced rice fields and the region is home to a number of ethnic minorities, such as the Black H’mong, Red Dzao, Giay and Xa Pho hill tribe people.

DAY 4:SAPA – LAO CHAI – TA VAN – SAPA(B/L/D)

FridayDrive from Sapa town down to Lao Chai village. Views of the Muong Hoa Valley and magnificent surroundings of mountains and rice terrace fields can be seen from this road. Along the road, people from many ethnic minority groups (H’mong, Zay, and Red Dao) are likely to be met, and there are stalls along the way that serve tea, fruits and sweets. 
Soon after turning off the main road and taking a local path, we will arrive in the Black H’mong village of Lao Chai, where you will experience the daily life of the villagers. Continue walking from Lao Chai to Ta Van village, where the Zay hill tribes live. Walk back to the meeting point for your return transfer back to Sapa town.

DAY 5:SAPA – CAN CAU – BAC HA(B/L/D)

SaturdayAfter breakfast, check out and drive to Bac Ha district to visit Can Cau, an exciting livestock market (on Saturdays only). Return to Bac Ha for lunch. After lunch, enjoy a light trek to Ban Pho. The region’s famous corn wine is brewed here and named after the village.

DAY 6:BAC HA(B/L/D)

SundayIn the morning, visit Bac Ha market, considered one of the most colourful ethnic markets in the Northwest. A weekly rendezvous for the locals and men folks can often be seen wending their merry way home at the end of a day at the market. 

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on Chay river and discover minority villages of the striped H’mong and Tay. Return to Bac Ha.

DAY 7:BAC HA – THAC BA LAKE(B/L/D)

MondayDepart for Thac Ba Lake. This artificial lake covers an area of 23,400 ha and 1,331 islands and hills with a diverse ecological environment. The water in the lake is blue and clear and imprinted with the reflections of the surrounding ancient forest.

DAY 8:THAC BA – HANOI(B/L/-)

TuesdayIn the morning, enjoy a boat ride on Thac Ba Lake. After the boat trip, drive back to Hanoi (accommodation in Hanoi is not included) or transfer to Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport at surcharge.
