DAY 4 YUANYANG     (B/L/D)
Yuanyang is located at 2,000 meters above sea level and the entire mountains here are sculpted with terrace-field commonly called "the ladder of the sky". Stop at Shen villages surrounding Yuanyang, nestled on a peak overlooking the terraced fields. (Honghe terraced fields have a long history. From the data in Chinese characters, they have already had a history of for more than 1,300 years. The Hani terraced fields distribute in Yuanyang, Honghe, Luchun and Jinping Counties, and the connecting terraced fields are seen from mountain to mountain with great momentum. In Yuanyang, the area of terraced fields amounts to more than 11,000 hectares, and for more than 3,000 steps of which stretch from the foot of a hill up to the top.)
Then pay a tour of Qing Kou Village which is a Hani village to see their mushroom house.
In the afternoon, transfer to Tiger Mouth Terrace Field visiting at sunset when the light reflects off of the pools of water, creating a magnificent colour show.

DAY 5 YUANYANG – JIANSHUI    (B/L/D)
Continue your journey through interesting landscapes to Jianshui (3 hours), once the economic and cultural capital of Southern Yunnan.
You will appreciate the typical architecture of the town: Tuanshan village for its well preserved architecture and local village atmosphere. The village has currently 237 households and over 90 percent still bear a common family name of Zhang. With four gates at the directions of east, south, west and north, the village is self-sufficient. A dozen of old residences survived from the Cultural Revolution in the 1970's and fine works of wood and stone carvings can be found all over the village.

Upon arrival, take a city tour to visit Family Zhu’s Garden. The Private Garden of the Zhu Family lies in Jianxin Street, Jianshui County and has a total area of 20,000 square meters and a floor space of 5,000 square metres. As it was built by Zhu Chaoying and his brother in the late Qing Dynasty, it got the name ''the Private Garden of the Zhu Family''. With the well-arranged yards and well-furnished rooms and halls, the structure of the architecture can be described as ''streamlined''. It enjoys the fame ''the Daguan Garden at a Border Town''. Large and magnificent buildings like the Private Garden of the Zhu family are now rarely seen in China. Today, it is one of the provincial cultural relics.
Take a short walking tour in Jianshui to see the famous ancient wells still preserved in Jianshui, stroll along the colourful streets of the town and the fortified walls near the Muslim quarter.

DAY 6 JIANSHUI – SHILIN STONE FOREST – KUNMING    (B/L/-)
In the morning, continue your visit of Jianshui to see the Confucius Temple. The Jianshui Confucius Temple, the biggest temple in Yunnan Province, is located near the north gate to Jianshui and is now one of the provincial historical relics. It is recorded that it was built in 1285. The temple covers an area of 114mu, imitating the style of the Qufu Confucius Temple, namely, a central axis structure like a palace. This complex includes a main hall, two side halls, three pavilions, four gates, five clan halls and eight memorial archways, all of which are kept splendidly.

Then continue to the Stone Forest (3.5 hours). The Stone Forest is in Shilin Yi Nationality Autonomous County, which is about 120 kilometres (75 miles) from Kunming, consisting of eighty hectares of ancient limestone cliffs and peaks eroded by wind and water over two hundred million years. It covers an area of 400 square kilometres (96,000 acres) and includes both large and small stone forests, as well as many other scenic spots.
An old local saying says that "If you have visited Kunming without seeing the Stone Forest, you have wasted your time." Truly, the Stone Forest is one of the most important attractions of Yunnan. Its area is the home of the Sani minority.
Transfer to Kunming city. Upon arrival, check into your hotel.

DAY 7 KUNMING – DEPARTURE    (B/-/-)

Today take a city tour of Kunming. Firstly drive to the Western Hills followed by a ten-minute chairlift ride up the hill. Western Hills, which are 15 kilometres (9 miles) from Kunming, are actually a range consisting of four mountains: Biji, Luohan, Huating and Taiping. Viewed from a distance, the skyline of the Western Hills' forest reserve resembles a beautiful maiden, reclining leisurely alongside of Dianchi Lake with her long hair drifting casually in the mirror-like water. It is for this reason that the local people gave the Western Hills the nickname “Sleeping Beauty Hills”.

Go through the Dragon Gate which is the steepest spot in the Western Hills and well worth climbing up the winding old stone stairs because the view is spectacular.
Then transfer to Kunming Airport for your departure flight.

Meals included:    Breakfast
